Setting up the Kit

Your new Broadcasting System is comprised of two pieces of hardware; a laptop and a camcorder.  Connecting these items together takes just a few minutes and provides the foundation of the Broadcasting System.

Once you have chosen an area near a power outlet and network jack you can follow these steps to quickly set up your system:

 Plug power cord into the laptop port.  Insert other end of power cord into electrical outlet.

 Plug power cord into the camcorder port.  Insert other end of power cord into electrical outlet.

  Plug USB cable into the camcorder USB port.

  Plug the other end of the USB cable into the laptop USB port.

Plug network cable into laptop Ethernet port. (This step can be skipped if using a wireless connection)

Turn on camcorder by turning the knob clockwise.  The camcorder should be in “camera” mode.

  Turn on laptop by pressing the power button.

*If you are a new client with Event by Wire this information is mailed to you prior to receiving your Broadcast System.  If you do not yet have a user name and password please call 800-XXX-XXXX.

Once logged in, you are ready to schedule your first live broadcast.
